Shyla trained as an Educational Psychologist at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, completing her Doctorate in Child, Community and Educational Psychology. She holds a Psychology degree from the University of Kent and has a strong background in supporting children and young people across a range of educational and clinical settings. She has worked across inner-London boroughs, gaining broad experience within Local Authority services. Her professional background also includes extensive work in Speech and Language Therapy, early years settings, and special education.
Shyla is particularly interested in early intervention, trauma-informed practice, and parent-child interaction. She is committed to promoting inclusion and emotional well-being, using evidence-based, culturally responsive approaches to support children, families and school communities in search of uplifting and meaningful change. She currently practices as a qualified Educational Psychologist, delivering consultation, assessment and intervention at individual, group and organisational levels.
