Bernice Gummer is a Specialist Clinical Practitioner (CBT for children, young people, and families) and an educational consultant. She is a practitioner whose educational experience is an advantage in her clinical work. Bernice has more than 30 years experience as a teacher and curriculum and pastoral manager supporting children and young people struggling to achieve academic goals. She trained at the Anna Freud Centre (with UCL) to use Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for the treatment of anxiety and depressive disorders in children and young people.
She works individually, with families or in school groups with children and adolescents experiencing a range of difficulties. She has also worked within a London borough's clinical team. Bernice works with individuals and families in homes or in schools to develop personalised strategies to manage their difficulty using face to face, over the phone and online appointments.
Bernice has extensive training and experience in coaching which she utilises in all her work. As a consultant, she takes a collaborative approach to enable managers, individuals, and teams to achieve sustainable improvement in both teaching, learning, assessment, quality and in understanding and supporting mental health.
